Installation Procedures

Suspension removal and installation procedures vary from vehicle to vehicle. Please refer to your vehicle’s owner manual for complete and accurate instructions.

INSTALLATION AND MOUNTING TIPS

  • When installing your shock absorbers, make sure to look closely for any clearance problems. Try to visualize the suspension going through its travel and be sure the shocks will not contact any other components.
  • If installing shock absorbers with remote reservoir cans, check that the hoses are not kinked or sharply bent. Inspect your vehicle for possible pinch points and places where abrasion of the hoses may occur. Secure hoses with zip-ties if necessary.
  • Check the reservoir cans for secure mounting. An improperly mounted reservoir could possibly come loose while riding. This is dangerous and can cause extensive damage to the reservoir, hose, and compression adjuster, as well as serious injury.
  • Do not over-tighten reservoir mounting clamps, as this may cause the clamps to break during use. Over-tightening may also deform the reservoir body, causing damage to the shock by restricting the movement of the internal floating piston.
